Recent research of 2000 parents indicated that 95% admitted to having little or no first aid knowledge. They expressed that they would not feel confident enough to assist if their child was seriously injured. With approximately 500,000 children a year making visits to accident and emergency departments, it is more important than ever for parents, grandparents and carers to have the right knowledge and skills to assist.
Being a new parent or grandparent can be a challenging and worrying time. This course builds your confidence so that if the worst happens you will have the skills required to recognise the problem, give immediate care and help fast.

- How to assist an unconscious infant or child
- How to assist an infant or child with CPR
- Assisting an infant or child if choking
- How to deal with an infant or child with a head injury
- What to do if your infant or child cuts themselves or experiences a heavy bleed
- How to identify a fracture and treat your infant or child
- Fevers experienced in childhood and how to assist
- Febrile Convulsions
